The Oil-Protein Diet by Dr.Johanna Budwig is a hundred and seventy-eight page book containing Budwig’s complete recipes for curing any health problem rising from the consumption of poisonous toxins, particularly from hydrogenated fat in food preservatives commonly found in Western grocery store foods. She was the first scientist in the west to argue those preservatives are the main cause of the wide spread incidence of cancer. With her Oil-Protein diet, which combines organic cold pressed Flax Seed Oil kept from light until its use, with all natural quark, cottage cheese or yogurt, and moderate exercise and sun bathing, she regularly cured many cancers in patients who came to her for just that; an effective cure for their disease.
Not only did she strictly control what her patients ate, she also controlled what they did not eat. To be successful with the eradication of cancer and other diseases in a patient she required they not eat any “unnatural” sugars such as cane sugar, no meat raised on feed cakes made of hydrogenated fats, margarine, butter, processed salad dressing, alcohol, white rice, white flour and refined grains, or preservatives, chemicals, and processed foods. Along with many natural organic fruits, vegetables, grains and nuts, she included a recipe for something she called Oleolox-Fat, which serves as a healthy spread in place of butter, and eight recipes for her own kind of allowable mayonnaise. Here are the recipes for both:
Cut 1 medium sized onion in two and brown slightly in 250g of heated coconut fat. Cook for 15 minutes, add 10 garlic organic garlic cloves and heat for another 3 minutes. Strain it through a sieve into 125ccm of organic cold pressed Flax Oil. Keep in refrigerator when it is not being used at the table. Take out only as much as you will use at the time. This spread can be used on breads, vegetables, buckwheat, brown rice, etc. and in soups.
